FAQ
What is the ENAR?
The ENAR ® (Electro Neuro Adaptive Regulator) is a hand-held therapeutic medical device. The ENAR is essentially a nerve-energy stimulator that uses interactive Electro-Neuro-Innervation technology to prompt the body to relieve pain, balance body biochemical, and restore function. Both amplitude and frequency of the current can be altered depending on the type of treatment. While the patient will feel a mild tingling sensation, intensity is adjusted to prevent any discomfort.
Why can’t my body just heal itself or the pain go away naturally?
In terms of holistic or electro-energetic medicine, the body is failing to complete its adaptive cycles, which are the basis for both homeostasis and healing. The body either fails to recognise the problem, fails to prioritise it, or has insufficient ability, energy, or resources to fully resolve or heal the problem.
How long does each treatment last?
The first treatment and initial testing can take up to 1 hour.
Follow-up treatments usually take up to 30 minutes, or 1 hour for more complex issues.
If you feel you need ‘emotional’ treatment a long appointment is recommended. Multiple allergies / intolerances are better treated in a few short appointments.
How many treatments do I need to feel a benefit?
Results can vary greatly depending on the severity of the condition. Some clients experience a dramatic change after a single treatment. For most conditions, however, a positive change should be expected within 4 to 5 treatments.
How often should I get treated?
For acute conditions I recommend treatments at least once a week. For food intolerance it will depend on how many different foods and allergens you are reacting to. Treating is recommended initially at least once a week, later fortnightly until all your symptoms have vanished. However the amount of treatments you have is entirely up to you and how you feel. It is common for people to need around 5 sessions to complete a series of testing and treatments. Despite this many clients reported great improvements after even just one treatment.
Chronic conditions take a long time, sometimes years, to manifest into symptoms and therefore may need more treatments to resolve.
Does the ENAR treatment hurt?
No it does not hurt at all. I will always regulate the power output of the device according to your level of comfort and double check with you throughout the treatment how you are feeling. This way I can ensure the impulses of the ENAR are felt but you are not experiencing any discomfort. I have noticed most clients and especially many children love the prickling sensation of the ENAR device.
What types of things can you test for?
We can test for many different body biochemicals, for instance hormones, neurotransmitters, neuropeptides, enzymes, immunoglobulins, amino-acids, etc. We also test for all types of common foods including gluten, wheat, milk and other dairy, yeast, fruits, vegetables, meat, additives, etc. I am able to test inhalants such as; pollens, grasses, flowers, dust, dust mite, moulds, and chemicals including chlorine, sunscreen, washing powders, etc.
Can I eat before my visit?
Yes you certainly can. Heavy meals, drugs, and alcohol should be avoided, however. After the treatment I encourage you to drink lots of water to help your body to flush out toxins. Can I eat food I was sensitive to after the treatment? For 25 hours you need to avoid every contact with the food so the autonomic nervous system can run through one whole 24hr biorhythm without being exposed to the allergen. Stay off the food completely for 48 hours after the treatment. After 48 hours you can start to slowly reintroduce the food.
What should I wear?
Loose fitting clothing is recommended. You can choose to wear your blouse front to back so I am able to access your spine from neck to tailbone or you may use the lovely fresh white robes provided.
Can my friend or relative stay with me while I have my treatment?
Certainly! Friends and relatives are very welcome!
Can children have an ENAR Therapy treatment?
Yes, most definitely. Children benefit in the same ways that adults do. I'll simply put the ENAR on a very low setting or its lowest setting (1 out of 250 power clicks) if children are too young to tell me how strong the sensation is. The effects of the ENAR treatment will still come through at a deeper level even if the child doesn't feel anything at the skin level.
How will I feel after an ENAR Therapy session?
Some of my clients have reported a temporary initial tiredness immediately following treatment, but this is in fact a positive sign that their body is already working hard to resolve the issue. Most clients report feeling increased energy levels.
Where ENAR therapy is used for cold/flu, clients report symptoms resolve much more quickly, in a matter of days rather than weeks.
In some chronic conditions, eg back pain, occasionally symptoms worsen temporarily as the energy shifts, and I recommend early follow up treatment a couple of days later to address this.
How much does it cost?
Please see my price-list page.
Can I pay by EFTPOS?
I try to keep my overheads as low as possible so ENAR treatments stay affordable for you. CASH is my preferred method of payment, otherwise if you are an existing client, you can direct deposit the money PRIOR to your treatment. I can offer you paying by EFTPOS if you don’t mind paying a small transaction fee on top of the treatment fee.
Has any research been done on the ENAR?
Yes, absolutely. The Macquarie University Centre For Health & Chiropractic has documented a Randomised Control Study On The Use of ENAR. ENAR has also featured on A Current Affair. Go to the Facts and Research page for more information.
What does it mean to have the ENAR TGA listed?
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is a division of the Australian Department of Health and Ageing. Its principal role is as the national regulator of therapeutic goods - a collective term covering medicines, medical devices and some related products. The TGA administers the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989, the objects of which include 'a national system of controls relating to the quality, safety, efficacy, and timely availability of therapeutic goods that are used in Australia, whether produced in Australia or elsewhere, or exported from Australia'. These activities are fully funded by fees charged for assessments, annual registrations and inspections.
Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods
The lawful supply of any therapeutic good in Australia requires that the product is included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). There are two types of entry on the ARTG. Some products are 'registered' and have an AUST R number on their label. Other products are 'listed' and have an AUST L number. The TGA decides if products are suitable for listing or require registration. Manufacturers are not permitted to suggest or imply in their advertisements that inclusion in the ARTG is a recommendation or endorsement by the TGA."
